The Insurance Specialist will work closely with Patient Access Coordinators, Financial Advocates, and Patient Accounts team members. The Insurance Specialist will work in Compass and will need in-depth insurance knowledge. The Insurance Specialist is responsible to research, obtain and create any required insurance verification prior to admission of each level of care recommended. The Insurance Specialist is responsible for verifying insurance benefits and appropriately recording insurance information in Compass. The Insurance Specialist is responsible for documenting and communicating precertification or preauthorization needs to the other team members they support. The Insurance Specialist position will support the other teams by contacting patients to discuss and review the identified insurance information, if the need arises. - Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and the patient to assist with researching and identifying patient insurance information applicable to HBFF.  - Enter clear and timely documentation in the EHR. - Insure Insurance and Financial Information Integrity - Maintaining a collaborative relationship with the multidisciplinary team, specifically the Addiction Counselors, Care Coordinators and Managed Care Specialists.
