The Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies invites applications for an adjunct faculty member to teach CF-809: Advanced Assessment and Diagnosis for Co-Occurring Disorders for the Fall 2020 term, which runs from Monday, September 7 through Saturday, December 19, 2020.  This is a 3 credit hour on-campus course, which will be taught on the Center City campus on Wednesdays from 6:00-9:00 PM.   As an adjunct faculty member of the Hazelden Betty Ford Graduate School of Addiction Studies, this position will be responsible for educating future leaders in addiction counseling to provide evidence-based integrated care for substance use and co-occurring disorders.  This position involves course instruction focused on the achievement of specified learning outcomes and may include academic support to students, coordination of guest lecturers, development and implementation of lectures and other learning activities, grading, and other related duties. - Teach and revise course content to ensure optimum learning outcomes. - Provide supervision necessary to promote acquisition of incremental student competency through clinical laboratory and internship experiences. (Relevant only to group supervision faculty)

Patient Access Coordinators (PAC) are the gateway to care for our applicants to become patients with one-call resolution.  PAC’s will answer calls live, doing a high level assessment to determine clinical appropriateness for one of our facilities and verification of benefits.  PAC’s will collaborate with a number of other roles within the organization to provide resolution for the caller in the first call and to set up an appointment for a clinical assessment when appropriate.  Customer service and sales are important skills, along with the ability to multi-task. - Utilize customer service and sales skills to provide resolution to caller’s needs. - Conduct screening to determine clinical fit for Hazelden Betty Ford substance abuse services. - Obtain financial and insurance/benefit information in order to determine eligibility to participate in the programs available through HBFF locations. - Manage patient caseload to ensure conversion to admit. - Ensure appropriate documentation is recorded in patient record to facilitate complete and accurate registration in the EHR.
