The Continuous Improvement (CI) Coach serves as an expert consultant to the organization by developing and deploying programs for the achievement of a culture of quality and continuous improvement.  The CI Coach develops the organization’s knowledgebase and ability to apply lean/six sigma principles, A3 management, continuous improvement programs, and quality initiatives by educating and coaching others. - Applies Lean principles and promotes adoption of standard work practices aimed at improving quality, safety, and flow. - Develop and deploy educational packages, tools, and systems to build quality, lean, problem solving and CI knowledge amongst all employees. - Coach staff, managers, and directors through knowledge transfer and adoption of lean thinking, problem solving, and CI. Act as a representative on relevant clinical and operational teams to align efforts, and provide improvement method training. - Apply knowledge of lean and six sigma principles to facilitate multi-disciplinary improvement teams to achieve measurable results, including all aspects of scoping, process mapping, data analysis, observation, and team education on improvement tools (waste walks, spaghetti diagrams, root cause, etc.) - Conduct analytical assessments of clinical and business operations to identify key improvement opportunities and drive root-cause problem solving. - Develops operational decision support tools as needed; including dashboards and leading indicators for continuous process improvement and optimization. - Ensure sustainability of improvements and changes by leveraging change management best practices.

Provide clinical direction to further build, maintain, and validate existing and new models of care within Family Services. Work closely with VP, Mental Health and Family Services, Director of Operations, Family Services and others to lead the development a new model of care for families impacted by addiction. Establish and maintain a clinical effectiveness hub for the organization that leads the collection and analysis of data, development of outcomes measures, and subsequent published works on findings. Patient Access Coordinators (PAC) are the gateway to care for our applicants to become patients with one-call resolution.  PAC’s will answer calls live, doing a high level assessment to determine clinical appropriateness for one of our facilities and verification of benefits.  PAC’s will collaborate with a number of other roles within the organization to provide resolution for the caller in the first call and to set up an appointment for a clinical assessment when appropriate.  Customer service and sales are important skills, along with the ability to multi-task. - Utilize customer service and sales skills to provide resolution to caller’s needs. - Conduct screening to determine clinical fit for Hazelden Betty Ford substance abuse services. - Obtain financial and insurance/benefit information in order to determine eligibility to participate in the programs available through HBFF locations. - Manage patient caseload to ensure conversion to admit. - Ensure appropriate documentation is recorded in patient record to facilitate complete and accurate registration in the EHR.

Responsible for the timely and accurate billing of patient accounts and collection of insurance receivables.  Work with insurance companies to resolve issues causing delay in the processing of the claim relying heavily upon extensive interpersonal communication skills and decision making.  Maintain a thorough knowledge of facility, professional claims and coding requirements.  Review EOBs to ensure payments from the insurance companies are accurate.
