    The Editorial Director is a key member of the Consumer Segment leadership team. In addition to creating the overall editorial strategy, this position is the product manager of the consumer product portfolio. This position will balance and prioritize the alignment of Consumer Segment editorial resources in support of in-year budget and multi-year growth strategies.

    • Responsible for achieving revenue/margin targets and driving future growth, as part of the Consumer Segment leadership team.
    • Create the editorial strategy and product/content roadmap for the direction and growth of the Consumer Segment.
      • Research the latest trends of the consumer publishing industry, and analyze market feedback on existing products
      • Oversee the review process, lead the acquisition, and negotiate contracts for new products/content
      • Create and maintain product P&Ls
      • Function as the primary point of contact for author relationships
    • Lead the product management of the consumer portfolio, overseeing products and other content throughout their lifecycle.
      • Frontlist: direct the content development processes, tools, and workflow to drive successful delivery
      • Backlist: oversee the revision, reissue, and sunset of existing products/content
      • Collaborate on go-to-market activities
    • Supervise the selection, development, and work plan of Consumer Segment editorial staff.


    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in the liberal arts or sciences
    • 5-7 years trade/consumer publishing experience, including but not limited to acquisitions, editorial, and digital product development
    • 3-5 years management/supervisory experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Masters or advanced degree preferred
    • Multi-media content creation and publishing
    • Digital asset management and/or publishing workflow management
    • Strong financial acumen with specific background in financial modeling and forecasting
      Prior non-profit management experience
