    Responsibilities

    This position works to build a supportive, positive, and engaged work environment by offering support to the day to day business needs within the Human Resource Department and Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. This position has a wide scope and will be responsible for many Human Resources functions including but not limited to: employee relations and investigations, multiple types of training initiatives, new employee orientation (NEO), HR communications, organization policies and procedures, and special project work as needed.

    Perform training as requested to include, but not limited to:

    • New Employee Experience – New Employee Orientation, Onboarding
    • Harassment Prevention Training
    • Online FYI 
    • CPR

    • Non-Violent Crisis

    • Other training initiatives as needed

      This includes ensuring content updates and communication, registration and completion records, and ensuring support materials are available and processed as well. In cases of mandatory training requirements, this includes escalation of non-compliant issues to ensure mandatory elements are fully satisfied.

    • Create and update organizational policies and procedures to ensure federal and state law compliance. 

    • Perform employee relations investigations as requested by HRBP or Senior Manager of Workforce Strategy. Provide proper documentation and make recommendations for follow- up actions as necessary to remedy situations and resolve conflict.
    • Support recruitment as needed. This may include: Conducting phone screens for key positions, participate in job fairs, provide overflow recruitment support as needed.
    • Serve as the centralized contact to HR communications to ensure consistent and timely messaging regarding all HR related activities.  Manage change through identifying and suggesting creative ways to communicate.  Manage a centralized HR email and ensure that HR messaging  is consistently branded from "HR" and strategically managed.
    • Support the HR team's standardized work effort which may involve creating presentations and collation of data for the HR Scorecard. Some examples include:
    • Turnover report
    • Unemployment Response and Process
    • Training completion data
    • Provide necessary back-up support while HRBP's are out of the office or as assigned by the Senior Manager of Workforce Strategy.
    • Assist with special projects as department or organization needs require. Some examples of this work could include: LDI/Leadership Academy Support, Employee Engagement Survey projects, HR Email Inbox, HR Answers, creation of Process Docs, and other projects/team work as needed to represent HR.
    • Assure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, faculty, students, guests, and visitors to include:
    • Maintain privacy, security, and confidentiality for all patients, past and present, based on federal and state regulations as well as Hazelden Betty Ford policies.
    • Apply and adhere to standards and regulations for fire, weather, emergency, and environmental hazards.
    • Work safely, using procedures and techniques that apply to work area and equipment, including ergonomics.
    • Assure that doors, windows, and files are closed and/or locked based on department standards and expectations.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field or equivalent experience.
    • 2-5 years of previous Human Resources experience in similar or related capacity.
    • Advanced skill with the MS Office suite.

    Preferred

    • Experience with Learning Management System (LMS).
    • Experience with employement law, in particlar, CA employment law.
    • Experience with creating and delivering training programs organization wide.
    • Recruitment of entry level to leader level positions. 
    • Emplolyer relations and investigation experience.
