    As a Staff Physician at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, you will:

    • Provide medical expertise and input regarding the type, level of intensity and quality of care for residential patients
    • Provide medical assessment within 72 hours of admission for each newly admitted patient
    • Review medical history with each patient assessed
    • Establish diagnosis of medical conditions and complications
    • Prioritize medical issues
    • Recommend follow-up medical procedures and/or treatments, including nursing interventions
    • Treat acute non-severe medical conditions concurrently with residential alcohol and drug dependency treatment services
    • Defer appropriate continuing care needs to discharge planning and continuing care strategies.
    • Participate in the on call duties with other members of the medical team as needed


    Required Qualifications:

    • M.D. with current state license to practice
    • Board Certified in internal medicine, family practice, emergency room medicine, or addiction medicine
    • ASAM, DEA and buprenorphine certifications required
    • Background in addiction medicine
    • Minimum of 2 years freedom from chemical use problems
