Responsibilities

As a Janitor, you will:

  • Ensure that major equipment and furnishings are maintained in a safe, operable condition and/or arrange for replacement.
  • Arrange for or provide training for staff and clients as relates to safety and maintenance topics.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe manner to minimize risk of injury to self and others.
  • Assure a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, guests, and visitors.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the federal regulations regarding confidentiality and privacy as they pertain to patient’s treatment for alcohol and drug abuse/addiction and the ability to uphold those regulations.
  • Knowledge of life safety systems such as fire alarm systems, automatic sprinkler systems, portable fire extinguishing systems and ability to apply policies and procedures to minimize risks associated with fire.
  • Knowledge of the physical plant; ability to maintain and repair the building and grounds to ensure long term optimum conditions.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding disposal and storage of chemicals and cleaning products.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use simple tools and equipment such as hammer, screwdrivers, pliers, scrapers and the like to perform simple maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with building systems maintenance
  • High school or equivalent
