Volunteers Needed to facilitate workshops:
Hazelden Betty Ford is currently looking to the community for Volunteers. If you have a skill to share, like communicating with groups or are looking for a way to give back in recovery, HBFF has a place for you!
We are currently looking for Volunteer Activity Facilitators from our local community for a rotating or flexible Saturday Afternoon Schedule of 1-2 hour length workshops giving patients a chance to explore and discover new activities and ideas for leisure and recreation. Topics can include hobbies, leisure activities, games or skills – anything from crafts, knitting to life skills like resume writing, budgeting or gardening.
Volunteers receive training for working with patients. For each date worked, they receive a meal ticket for any shifts worked over 2 hours that can be used at our Cafeteria. For Volunteers working more than 4 Hours in a month, we offer a Month to Month Fitness Center Membership.
Topic Ideas can include (these are examples, additional suggestions are welcomed!):
Crafts: Beading, Drawing, Knitting, Crochet, Painting, Photography, creating Dream catchers, scrap booking. Kintsugi or other crafts.
Leisure Activities: Board Games, Card Games, Creative writing or journaling, seed starting/gardening, Karaoke, sobriety scavenger hunts,
Lifestyle: Cultural diversity, personal finance/budgeting.
Wellness: Yoga, Meditation, Fitness, Nutrition
Recovery: AA/NA Meeting, sobriety maintenance,
Professional Development: Resume Writing, How to obtain a GED, Job Search and Interviewing, Linked In Tutorial
